Toni Spuch developed this decoration project in “Azultierra” for a young married couple who, due to their professional activity, travel a lot. They were looking for a house in a quiet area to live near the sea. Create a home, a space to relax and rest and its guidelines have been: design, elegance, light, large spaces, warmth and exuberant vegetation.
The house, which is located in a residential area very close to the sea, on the Costa Blanca, is distributed over three floors: basement, main floor and first floor. The house is made entirely of concrete with large windows. It presides over a large central volume, the staircase separates the rooms and serves as a common thread throughout the house.
We access the basement by the stairs. It is an open space, with natural light coming from two large patios. In it there is a large living room that serves as a TV room, with a bar, gym and office.
The main floor is a single open space, with large windows that overlook the garden and the pool. Living room with iron fireplace. Open kitchen separated from the living room by the iron volume of the staircase. A large black marble island stands out.
On the first floor is the master bedroom with dressing room and bathroom incorporated into the bedroom and guest bedrooms.
AESTHETIC CRITERIA:
Contemporary line housing. The structure is formed by large volumes of concrete combined with iron. Iron fireplace and staircase coverings and is also present in some verticals. In this way, spacious environments with lots of light are generated thanks to the large windows that overlook the garden, thus allowing the vegetation to be integrated into the rooms of the entire house. The concrete (both in the vertical and horizontal walls) gives solidity to the house. High ceilings add spaciousness. Some walls are clad in iron, creating contrasts that give the project identity and personality.
LIGHTING AND NATURAL LIGHT:
The house has a lot of natural light due to its good orientation, the high ceilings and the huge windows. The curtains are made of natural linen and allow light to pass through and enjoy the views of the garden and the pool. The lighting is indirect, with the intention of creating a warm and ambient atmosphere both in the main rooms and in the bedroom. Hanging lamps by Tom Dixon at the entrance enhance the entrance space.
LIVING ROOM – DINING ROOM – KITCHEN:
This space is conceived as a single open and connected room, but in turn separated by a central volume, the staircase, which is conceived as a black iron box that presides over the room.
SUITE AND MAIN BATH:
Oriented to the garden. The large windows stand out, allowing light and vegetation to invade the entire room, giving privacy with a natural linen curtain and on the façade with vertical parameters in black iron that allow playing with light.
Both the bathroom and the central cabinet are custom designed in black Zimbabwe marble with a marble inlaid sink. Suspended mirrors with black iron profile and suspended lamps in the TEKNA model.
